Sentinel Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA)

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Sentinel ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of the App

Sentinel is a cross-platform (iOS, iPadOS, and macOS) field tool for security-camera installers and IT administrators. The App discovers ONVIF and SADP (Hikvision-compatible) devices on the local network (including across subnets via multicast), activates brand-new devices by setting a strong administrator password, and reconfigures device IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DHCP settings. All communication takes place directly between your device and the devices on your local network. The App requires no account and does not transmit your data to 6tSevn BV.

3. License Grant

6tSevn BV grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

4. Authorized Use Only

Sentinel is intended for use by installers, integrators, and administrators to discover, activate, and configure devices on networks and devices they own or are authorized to manage. You agree to use the App only where you have the necessary authority. You must not use the App to access, alter, or interfere with networks, cameras, recorders, or other devices without authorization. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have permission to scan, activate, and reconfigure any device you interact with using the App.

5. User Data

5.1 Local Storage and the Keychain

Data the App retains — including remembered devices and app preferences — is stored locally on your device. Administrator passwords and other credentials are stored securely in the iOS/macOS Keychain. No data is transmitted to 6tSevn BV or any third-party servers.

5.2 No Accounts or Cloud Services

Sentinel does not require or support user accounts, and 6tSevn BV operates no servers that receive your data. Communication occurs only between your device and the devices on your local network.

5.3 No Analytics or Tracking

Sentinel does not collect analytics, usage data, or tracking information. No third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking tools are integrated into the App.

6. Permitted Use

You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose as a device discovery, activation, and configuration tool. You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose, including unauthorized access to networks or devices
  • Use the App in any manner that violates the privacy or property rights of others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its systems
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the App

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is the property of 6tSevn BV and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use the 6tSevn or Sentinel trademarks or branding. "ONVIF" is a trademark of the ONVIF consortium. Device brand names and protocol names referenced for compatibility (including "SADP" and "Hikvision-compatible") are trademarks of their respective owners. Sentinel is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any camera manufacturer.

8. Disclaimers

8.1 Not a Substitute for Professional Judgment

Sentinel is a tool that assists with discovering and configuring network devices. The App is not a substitute for professional security, networking, or installation expertise. You are responsible for verifying that any configuration you apply is correct and appropriate for your environment.

8.2 Discovery and Configuration Limitations

Device discovery and configuration over a network have inherent technical limitations. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Discovery works across subnets via multicast, but changing settings or activating a device requires being on the same subnet as it. Out-of-subnet devices are detect-only.
  • Discovery depends on devices correctly implementing ONVIF and SADP protocols. Devices that do not conform, or that are powered off or unreachable, may not appear.
  • Manufacturers may change firmware behavior, which can affect detection, activation, or configuration.
  • Applying incorrect network settings can render a device temporarily unreachable until corrected. You are responsible for the changes you apply.
  • The absence of a device from the results does not guarantee that no such device is present.

8.3 Warranty Disclaimer

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. 6tSevn BV does not warrant that the App will discover all devices, that activation or configuration will succeed on every device, or that the App will be error-free.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, 6tSevn BV shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the App
  • Any failure of the App to discover, activate, or configure a device
  • Any device becoming unreachable or misconfigured following changes you apply
  • Any unauthorized use of the App by you in violation of these Terms
  • Any data loss resulting from device failure, software updates, or user error
  • Any decisions made in reliance on information provided by the App

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Deleting the App permanently removes all locally stored data, including credentials held in the Keychain for the App. 6tSevn BV reserves the right to discontinue the App or any of its features at any time without prior notice.

11. Updates

6tSevn BV may release updates to the App from time to time, including bug fixes, new features, and protocol or compatibility improvements. Updates are distributed through the Apple App Store. You are encouraged to keep the App up to date. 6tSevn BV is not obligated to provide updates or to maintain backward compatibility with older operating system versions.

12. Changes to These Terms

6tSevn BV reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be made available through the App and on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.

14. Third-Party Services

The App uses Apple-native frameworks and communicates only with the devices on your local network. No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used. Apple's own terms and privacy policies apply to Apple services used by the App.

15. Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement

The following terms apply to your use of Sentinel in accordance with the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the Apple Developer Program License Agreement (Schedule 2). In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA shall prevail with respect to matters governed by it.

15.1 Acknowledgement

This Agreement is between you and 6tSevn BV only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). 6tSevn BV, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Sentinel application ("Licensed Application") and its content.

15.2 Scope of License

6tSevn BV grants you a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Sentinel on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This license does not allow you to use Sentinel on a device you do not own or control, and you may not distribute or make Sentinel available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time. You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the Licensed Application. If you sell your Apple device to a third party, you must remove the Licensed Application before doing so. Family Sharing or volume purchasing participants may use the Licensed Application in accordance with Apple's applicable terms.

15.3 Maintenance and Support

6tSevn BV is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services with respect to Sentinel, as specified in this Agreement or as required under applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to Sentinel.

15.4 Warranty

6tSevn BV is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of the Licensed Application to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the Licensed Application. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Licensed Application, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be 6tSevn BV's sole responsibility.

15.5 Product Claims

6tSevn BV, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the Licensed Application or your possession and/or use of the Licensed Application, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the Licensed Application fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.

15.6 Intellectual Property Rights

In the event of any third-party claim that the Licensed Application or your possession and use of the Licensed Application infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, 6tSevn BV, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.

15.7 Legal Compliance

You represent and warrant that: (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

15.8 Third-Party Terms of Agreement

You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the Licensed Application, including Apple's Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

15.9 Third-Party Beneficiary

You acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement, and that, upon your acceptance of the terms and conditions of this Agreement, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this Agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
