Spectre - Bluetooth Smart Glasses Detector

Introduction
At 6tSevn, we believe your privacy is a fundamental right. Spectre was built with a privacy-first philosophy: the app works entirely offline, collects no personal data, and never communicates with any server — including ours.
This Privacy Policy explains how Spectre handles your information. We encourage you to read it carefully. If you have any questions, please contact us at the address listed at the bottom of this document.
Data We Do NOT Collect
Spectre does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on our servers. Specifically:
- No analytics or tracking. We do not use any analytics frameworks, tracking pixels, or usage telemetry.
- No advertising. Spectre contains no ads and does not use advertising identifiers (IDFA).
- No third-party SDKs that collect data. Spectre is built entirely with Apple's native frameworks.
- No user accounts. Spectre does not require registration, login, or any form of account creation.
- No server-side processing. We do not operate any servers that receive your data.
- No network requests. Spectre makes zero network requests. The app works entirely offline.
- No camera or photo library access. Spectre does not request or use access to your camera or photo library.
- No iCloud sync. No data is synced to iCloud or any cloud service.
Data Stored on Your Device
All data generated by Spectre is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This includes:
- Detection logs — records of detected smart glasses broadcasts, including device type, brand, signal strength, and timestamp
- Location data (optional) — if you grant "When In Use" location access, Spectre tags each detection with the location where it occurred
- App preferences — notification settings, biometric lock preference, and display settings
This data is stored in an SQLite database within the app's private sandboxed container on your device. No other app can access this data.
Bluetooth Low Energy Scanning
Spectre uses Apple's CoreBluetooth framework to scan for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) advertisement broadcasts from smart glasses. It is important to understand how this works:
- Spectre operates in central mode only — it listens for broadcast advertisements that nearby devices transmit publicly.
- No pairing or connections are established with any detected device. Spectre only reads publicly broadcast advertisement data.
- Detected device information (manufacturer identifiers, signal strength) is processed entirely on your device.
- Spectre detects the following smart glasses brands: Ray-Ban Meta, Snap Spectacles, Google Glass, XREAL, Vuzix, Amazon Echo Frames, Even Realities, Brilliant Labs, Xiaomi Smart Glasses, Lenovo ThinkReality, and TCL RayNeo.
- No Bluetooth data is transmitted to 6tSevn BV or any third party.
Background Scanning
Spectre supports background Bluetooth scanning via Apple's Core Bluetooth state restoration. When background scanning is enabled:
- The system may wake the app briefly when a matching smart glasses broadcast is detected.
- All processing occurs locally on your device.
- You can disable background scanning at any time in Spectre's settings or in your device's Bluetooth settings.
Location Access (Optional)
Spectre optionally requests "When In Use" location access to tag detections with the location where they occurred. When location access is granted:
- Location data is used only to annotate detection logs and display detections on a map within the app.
- Location data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to 6tSevn BV or any third party.
- You can deny or revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings. Spectre will continue to function without location data — detections will simply not include a location tag.
Notifications
Spectre uses local notifications only — these are generated and delivered entirely on your device. Notifications are used for:
- Detection alerts — when smart glasses are detected nearby.
- Background scan results — when a detection occurs while the app is in the background.
These notifications are generated locally on your device, never sent through external push notification servers operated by 6tSevn BV, and entirely optional — you can enable or disable them in Spectre's settings or in your device's notification settings.
Face ID / Touch ID
Spectre offers an optional biometric lock using Face ID or Touch ID to protect your detection logs. When enabled:
- Biometric authentication is handled entirely by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework.
- Spectre never receives, stores, or processes your biometric data. Authentication happens at the operating system level.
- If biometric authentication is unavailable, the system falls back to your device passcode.
- You can enable or disable biometric lock at any time in Spectre's settings.
Siri Shortcuts
Spectre supports Siri Shortcuts integration, allowing you to trigger scans or check detection status using voice commands or automations. Siri Shortcuts processing is handled by Apple's operating system. 6tSevn BV does not receive any voice data or Siri interaction data.
Data Export
Spectre allows you to export your detection logs as CSV or JSON files. When you export:
- The export file is generated locally on your device.
- You control where the file is saved or shared using the standard iOS share sheet.
- 6tSevn never receives a copy of your exported data.
Children's Privacy
Spectre does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content. Since all data is stored locally and we do not collect any information, there is no risk of children's data being transmitted to us or any third party.
Data Deletion
Since all your data is stored on your device, you have full control over it at all times:
- Delete individual entries directly within the app (detection logs, saved locations).
- Clear all data using the "Clear All Data" option in Spectre's settings.
- Delete all data permanently by deleting the Spectre app from your device.
No data remains on any 6tSevn server after deletion because we never had your data in the first place.
Third-Party Services
Spectre uses no third-party services that collect, process, or store your data. The app is built exclusively with Apple's native frameworks:
- CoreBluetooth — Bluetooth Low Energy scanning
- SwiftData — Local data storage
- CoreLocation — Optional location tagging
- MapKit — On-device map display
- UserNotifications — Local detection alerts
- LocalAuthentication — Face ID / Touch ID app lock
- Charts — On-device data visualization
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data. Since Spectre stores all data locally on your device and we have no access to it, you already have full and direct control over all your data at all times.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), we confirm that:
- No personal data is transferred to 6tSevn or any third party.
- No data processing by 6tSevn occurs, as we do not collect your data.
- Your data resides solely on your device.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Spectre after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
