Spectre Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA)

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Spectre ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of the App

Spectre is a free Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scanner that detects smart glasses nearby. The App identifies broadcast advertisements from 11 supported smart glasses brands: Ray-Ban Meta, Snap Spectacles, Google Glass, XREAL, Vuzix, Amazon Echo Frames, Even Realities, Brilliant Labs, Xiaomi Smart Glasses, Lenovo ThinkReality, and TCL RayNeo. All detection data is stored locally on your device. The App works entirely offline, requires no account, and contains no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or advertisements.

3. License Grant

6tSevn BV grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

4. User Data

4.1 Local Storage

All data generated by the App — including detection logs, optional location tags, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. No data is transmitted to 6tSevn BV or any third-party servers.

4.2 No Accounts or Cloud Services

Spectre does not require or support user accounts. The App does not use iCloud sync or any cloud storage service. Your data exists solely on your device.

4.3 No Analytics or Tracking

Spectre does not collect analytics, usage data, or tracking information. No third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking tools are integrated into the App.

5. Permitted Use

You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose as a personal Bluetooth smart glasses detection tool. You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to unauthorized surveillance or stalking
  • Use the App in any manner that violates the privacy rights of others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its systems
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the App
  • Use detection data to harass, intimidate, or discriminate against individuals wearing smart glasses

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is the property of 6tSevn BV and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use the 6tSevn or Spectre trademarks or branding. The smart glasses brand names detected by the App (Ray-Ban Meta, Snap Spectacles, Google Glass, XREAL, Vuzix, Amazon Echo Frames, Even Realities, Brilliant Labs, Xiaomi Smart Glasses, Lenovo ThinkReality, TCL RayNeo) are trademarks of their respective owners. Spectre is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these companies.

7. Privacy

Your privacy is central to Spectre. The App makes no network requests, collects no personal data, and operates entirely offline. For complete details, please review our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

8. Disclaimers

8.1 Not a Substitute for Security Advice

Spectre is a detection tool designed to identify nearby smart glasses via Bluetooth broadcasts. The App is not a substitute for professional security advice, personal safety measures, or legal counsel. You should not rely solely on Spectre for decisions regarding your personal safety or privacy. If you have concerns about surveillance or privacy violations, consult appropriate legal or security professionals.

8.2 Bluetooth Detection Limitations

Bluetooth Low Energy detection has inherent technical limitations. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Spectre can only detect smart glasses that are actively broadcasting BLE advertisement data. Devices that are powered off, in airplane mode, or have Bluetooth disabled will not be detected.
  • Detection accuracy depends on signal strength, environmental factors, interference, and device firmware behavior.
  • False positives may occur if other Bluetooth devices broadcast similar advertisement patterns.
  • False negatives may occur if smart glasses manufacturers change their BLE advertisement formats in firmware updates.
  • The absence of a detection does not guarantee that no smart glasses are present in your vicinity.
  • Signal strength (RSSI) values are approximate and should not be relied upon as precise distance measurements.

8.3 Warranty Disclaimer

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. 6tSevn BV does not warrant that the App will detect all smart glasses in your vicinity or that detections will be error-free.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, 6tSevn BV shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the App
  • Any failure of the App to detect smart glasses or other Bluetooth devices
  • Any false positive or false negative detections
  • Any data loss resulting from device failure, software updates, or user error
  • Any actions you take or fail to take based on information provided by the App
  • Any decisions regarding personal safety or privacy made in reliance on the App

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Deleting the App permanently removes all locally stored detection data. 6tSevn BV reserves the right to discontinue the App or any of its features at any time without prior notice.

11. Updates

6tSevn BV may release updates to the App from time to time, including but not limited to bug fixes, new features, and updates to the smart glasses detection database. Updates are distributed through the Apple App Store. You are encouraged to keep the App up to date to ensure the most accurate detection capabilities. 6tSevn BV is not obligated to provide updates or to maintain backward compatibility with older iOS versions.

12. Changes to These Terms

6tSevn BV reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be made available through the App and on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.

14. Third-Party Services

The App uses only Apple-native frameworks and services (CoreBluetooth, SwiftData, CoreLocation, MapKit, UserNotifications, LocalAuthentication, Charts). No third-party services, SDKs, or APIs are used. Apple's own terms and privacy policies apply to Apple services used by the App.

15. Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement

The following terms apply to your use of Spectre in accordance with the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the Apple Developer Program License Agreement (Schedule 2). In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA shall prevail with respect to matters governed by it.

15.1 Acknowledgement

This Agreement is between you and 6tSevn BV only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). 6tSevn BV, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Spectre application ("Licensed Application") and its content.

15.2 Scope of License

6tSevn BV grants you a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Spectre on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This license does not allow you to use Spectre on a device you do not own or control, and you may not distribute or make Spectre available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time. You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the Licensed Application. If you sell your Apple device to a third party, you must remove the Licensed Application before doing so. Family Sharing or volume purchasing participants may use the Licensed Application in accordance with Apple's applicable terms.

15.3 Maintenance and Support

6tSevn BV is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services with respect to Spectre, as specified in this Agreement or as required under applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to Spectre.

15.4 Warranty

6tSevn BV is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of the Licensed Application to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the Licensed Application. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Licensed Application, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be 6tSevn BV's sole responsibility.

15.5 Product Claims

6tSevn BV, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the Licensed Application or your possession and/or use of the Licensed Application, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the Licensed Application fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.

15.6 Intellectual Property Rights

In the event of any third-party claim that the Licensed Application or your possession and use of the Licensed Application infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, 6tSevn BV, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.

15.7 Legal Compliance

You represent and warrant that: (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

15.8 Third-Party Terms of Agreement

You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the Licensed Application, including Apple's Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

15.9 Third-Party Beneficiary

You acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement, and that, upon your acceptance of the terms and conditions of this Agreement, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this Agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
